- Is my manuscript sent anywhere?
- Yes, the text is. Inkwell extracts the text in your browser, then sends it through its server to DeepSeek, a third-party AI provider, which writes the result. The file itself is not uploaded, but its words are, so do not use this tool for text you cannot share with a third party.
- Does it read the whole book?
- No. Only the first 14,000 characters of text, roughly 2,000 words, are read; anything after that is cut off. That is about the opening chapter of a typical book, so for a full book, split it into parts and brief each one.
- Can I use an EPUB file?
- Use a PDF or .txt file. EPUB files are not read correctly yet.
