Pull the words out of a photo, screenshot, or scanned page with OCR. Recognition runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.
How to use Image to text
- Drop an image onto the sheet.
- Press Run and wait while the text is recognized.
- Copy the text from the preview, or download it as a .txt file and a PDF.
Frequently asked questions
- Which languages can it read?
- English only for now. Other Latin-script text may be partly recognized, but accented letters are often missed.
- Can I process several images at once?
- One per run: only the first image on the sheet is read.
- Is my scan uploaded for OCR?
- No. Recognition runs in your browser with Tesseract.js. On first use the browser downloads the recognition engine and English language data from a public CDN, but your file itself is never sent anywhere.
