- Which format gives the smallest file?
- WebP usually does, followed by JPEG. PNG ignores the quality setting because it is lossless, so choose it only when you need sharp edges or transparency.
- Is photo metadata removed?
- Yes. Re-encoding drops EXIF data such as camera details and GPS location.
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is read and processed inside your browser tab, and the result is created on your device. It is kept only in your browser's own storage until you remove it.
